What will the session cover?
Our HR development workshop is intended for practicing HR professionals and other people managers whose roles have a substantial HR remit. The HR workshop will cover a range of relevant issues:
Emma Wilkinson from Menopause Experts will explain how her organisation supports employers and will cover practical suggestions for employers. (30 minutes.)
Jane Lister myHRdept’s Head of Legal will cover employment law aspects around redundancy and important case law in this area.
Bill Larke, myHRdept’s founder, will cover redundancy process and procedure, step by step (including collective redundancies).
The session will start at 9.30 and will conclude at 12.30.
What will the redundancy masterclass cover?
HR participants will cover:
- Managing managers prior to and during the consultation
- Key stages of all consultations and collective consultations
- ‘One establishment’ – a legal refresher
- Voluntary Redundancy as a management tool
- Termination payments
- Exit agreements
- Post redundancy HR actions
Where will the workshop be?

There is parking at the ground, but if full there is also a pay and display carpark opposite the ground, with further parking available in Maidenhead town centre, a 5 – 10 minute walk away.
Who should attend the workshop?
HR professionals and those whose role involves HR responsibilities. A level of HR knowledge will be assumed.
Who will be presenting at the workshop?
Bill Larke will lead the redundancy session. Formerly HRD responsible for HR for Coca-Cola’s UK operations, Bill has extensive experience of redundancy campaigns, collective and otherwise, and has been called upon to coordinate high profile redundancies within some of the UK’s best known organisations.
Jane Lister will provide an update on legal considerations, particularly around ‘one establishment’ rulings. Jane is a fully qualified employment solicitor, her earlier practice experience was gained in a London law firm. Jane is Head of Legal at myHRdept.
Emma Wilkinson will talk about the work of menopause experts and will be available to provide advice on options for employers and to take questions on this important topic. Menopause impacts 70% of working women at some time in their lives and 1 in 4 contemplate changing employers.
