Back home you go….

22nd Sep 20: Return to homeworking imminent….

Boris Johnson is expected this afternoon to encourage employers to continue with home working arrangements in an effort to stem the rising tide of covid 19 cases, which could hit 50,000 new cases a day in October if the current trend continues unabated.

In a further move it is likely that pubs and restaurants will have to close at 10pm from Thursday, which will have further impact on the hospitality industry on a day when Whitbread announced 6,000 job cuts because of a ‘reduction in travel.’ Last orders at 10pm is unlikely to have a material impact on the lucrative food side of pubs and restaurants, but those dependent on wet trade are likely to suffer.
