Our team of experienced HR experts will take managers through a deep dive on everything related to absence management, building knowledge on how to deal with absence and attendance issues both formally and informally and when to involve HR in the process.
We will discuss the causes of staff absence and consider the costs and impact on businesses, using objective measures to set reasonable expectations and calculate attendance. Our team will provide the knowledge and the know-how, taking managers through the relevant laws and HR policies, that affect the absence management process.
Our team will coach managers on how to recognise and assess the differences between absence and attendance issues and provide structured guidance on holding both formal and informal absence meetings for a range of issues.
Through practicing several absence management scenarios in a classroom environment and developing managers absence management capability; this myHRdept workshop will help organisations reduce the impact of absence, manage the risk of costly tribunal claims and increase people-manager confidence to effectively manage their people.

Delivery of Absence Management Training
Tutors (across the programme) include practicing HR staff with substantial experience of supporting people-managers, an ex-Coca-Cola HR Director and a fully qualified HR solicitor.
Our preferred method of delivery is 1 X in-person half day workshops with 6 – 10 attendees. Workshops include practice of key skills – performance management, difficult conversations.
Workshops take place at our offices in Marlow, or client premises.
Post-Workshop Coaching Support for Absence Management Training
Attendees will additionally benefit from a post-programme half-hour 121 coaching session from a member of the myHRdept team, helping attendees achieve maximum benefit from the workshop by reinforcing their learning back in the workplace.
