The Department for Work and Pensions has just announced the new statutory 'family friendly' and statutory sick pay (SSP) rates.

The new rates are expected to come into force on the 9th April 2012 and will be as follows:

  • Statutory Maternity, Paternity, Additional Paternity, Adoption Pay and Maternity Allowance will all increase from the current rate of £128.73 to £135.45 per week;

  • Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) will increase from the current rate of £81.60 to £85.85 per week.
