  • Minimum wage & new maternity laws

    The new National Minimum Wage rates come into effect 1st October, with the standard rate increasing to £5.73 per hour from 1st October. On the 5th October, maternity laws chaneg and you will need to update/replace your existing maternity policy.
  • Tips paid by tronc DO NOT count towards minimum wage

    HMRC has successfully challenged a ruling that staff can receive a basic pay rate below the minimum wage provided their hourly rate is at least equivalent to it by the time tips are counted and paid via a tronc system.
