Attendance at Work Policy and Procedure
This attendance at work policy contains information about how particular absences will be handled. The policy deals with absence due to holidays, sickness or injury and unauthorised absence. The policy lays out how you should deal with these issues and allows for the use of return to work forms and procedures. Although the policy references allowable absences due to family emergencies (a statutory right), it does not go into depth on this issue, since this (because of it's statutory nature), should be covered by a separate policy.
In common with all policies, this policy should be signed by the senior person responsible for its operation (normally the head of the Company) and all employees should be informed of its contents, with a central copy held on a 'Personnel Policy File' with all of your other policies and procedures. Once you have extablished this as Company Policy, please ensure you and your employees comply with it.
