Discrimination, Bullying, Harrassment and Victimisation at Work Policy and Procedure

Discrimination, Bullying, Harrassment and Victimisation at Work Policy and Procedure

This policy describes the steps that the company will take to ensure that employees, potential employees, ex employees, contractors etc, are not treated unfairly or detrimented in any way by discrimination and harrassment. It is the practical detail behind the company's Equal Opportunities Statement.

It clearly lays out the forms that discrimination can take (direct, indirect, harrassment and victmisation) and identifies all the forms of illegal discrimination, and the steps that an employer must take to ensure they protect their workforce from discrimination, and themselves from discrimination claims.

In common with all policies, this policy should be signed by the most senior person responsible for its operation (normally the head of the Company) and all employees should be informed of its contents, with a central copy held on a 'Personnel Policy File' with all of your other policies and procedures. Once you have established this as Company Policy, please ensure you and your employees comply with it.

Other documents you may wish to consider implementing in addition to this policy include:

Equal Opportunities Statement

Disciplinary and Dismissal Policy

Grievance Policy
