  • PDFAdoption Policy and Procedure

    Qualifying employees who are adopting a child have the right to leave, pay and employment protection. This policy clearly defines employee rights, and both employer and employee obligations.

    Policy amended September 08 to reflect statutory changes to entitlements of employees whose placement occurs on or after 5th October 2008.

  • PDFBereavement Leave Policy and Procedure
    This policy lays out the paid time off that the company will give to an employee in the event of a bereavement - the actual number of days given being dependant on the relationship between the employee and the deceased.
  • PDFFlexible Working Policy and Procedure

    This policy explains the circumstances in which an employee has the right to request a flexible working arrangement (ie for the care of a child or an adult in the employee's care). Whilst this is only a right to REQUEST and employers are not obliged to agree, they are legally obliged to follow a specific procedure when considering the request.  (Updated with effect from October 2007 to include refinitions of foster parents and adoption from outside of UK.)

    The policy clarifies pay, leave, rights and obligations (of both the employee and the employer) prior to, during and after maternity leave.

    Policy amended Sept 08 to reflect statutory changes effective for women whose EWC falls on or after 5th October 2008.

    Certain employees are entitled to take parental leave of up to 13 weeks for each child under the age of 5 (different entitlements if the child is disabled). This policy lays out the eligibility criteria and the obligations and restrictions associated with this right.
